Two Blue Glasses
This is a small painting on canvas that I'm working on. I just love painting glass on mirrored surfaces, it's such a challenge for me! I don't know if I'm always successful with it, but someday...
I've also decided that I absolutely hate painting detailed pictures on canvas. I much prefer a hardboard surface. The canvas is just too smushy.

Blue Glass with Nectarine

11" x 14"
Oil on Canvas
On eBay Now
This is the first painting I've done on canvas in a long time. I must say that I prefer the harder surface of the wood (masonite). Canvas has too much spring for me, especially at this small size. It's harder to get details with canvas.

Colored Glass on Mirror

It's been ages since I've posted on this blog, but I finally finished this painting today. This is a quick photo of it that I took on the easel. Painting mirrors and reflective surfaces is very difficult for me, yet I feel drawn to it over and over. This piece really took me a long time and was a pretty ambitious project for me, so the next few paintings will be a little bit smaller. I do like painting larger pieces, though: I like the impact they have hanging on the wall and I like the more complex compositions that I'm able to work with.
